Who can scuba dive?

If you’re 8 years to 80 years plus, like wetsuits and are in good health, are able to swim, float and tread water, and are anxious to explore the underwater marvels, you are a good candidate for scuba diving (SCUBA – Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus).

Modern scuba diving is very safe and easy to learn.  Basic skills can be learned in as little as a few days.

Types of Scuba Diving

Recreational – Most people dive just for the fun.  Exploring the beauty of the sea defies description for young and old.

Commercial – Building underwater structures, conducting surveys, creating maps, underwater camera work and conducting salvage operations are some of the projects commercial divers do for a living.

Technical – Some recreational divers want to experience more extreme deep diving, cave diving, and more advanced wreck diving.  Technical diving is very advanced and requires specialized equipment and training.

Military – Diving for the military in special wetsuits is similar to commercial diving but also includes surveillance, mine clearing and military research.
